Romney ’47 percent’ recorder reveals self

NEW YORK, March 15 (UPI) — Scott Prouty, the man who shot the “47 percent” video of Mitt Romney during the 2012 presidential campaign, told MSNBC he agonized about releasing the video.

Prouty, who went public for the first time Wednesday, said he was working as a bartender at the $50,000-per-plate fundraiser in Boca Raton, Fla., when he made the recording.

Prouty said he is a “registered independent,” and votes Democratic, but “didn’t go there with a grudge against Romney.”

He said he worried about releasing the video, as Florida law prohibits video taping someone without their consent, but felt he had an obligation to do so.

“I don’t think he has any idea what a single mom, you know, taking a bus to work, dropping her kid off at day care that she can barely afford, hopping on another bus — you know, the day in, day out struggles of everyday Americans,” Pouty said on “The Ed Show.”

He admits he broke the law. Arrest him and charge him. They sure would have arrested and charged Romney had they been able to find a single law he had broken, but they couldn’t because he never broke any laws, even though most of you would like to think he did.

If you would read the article, you would know that the “law” he broke deals with taping a private conversation with another person. Whether or not a presidential candidate’s remarks at a fundraiser constitute a “private conversation” is nebulous at best. No where does anyone say anything about Romney breaking laws. Seems to me you are trying to divert the conversation to something other than what it is about – Romney’s obvious lack of concern for anyone other than the rich.

I remember 2 times when biden said something stupid and it was recorded. The news played it once then stopped playing it and nothing was ever done about it. The media would do anything to get their manchurian candidate elected.

Biden says a lot of stupid things. None of them on the level of “47% of you are slackers” and certainly not on the campaign trail. That was stupid.

It might have been stupid to say it in public but it was the truth, the election prooved it.

No, it was not the truth, and no the election didn’t prove it. What the election proved, was that most Americans are smarter than you right wingers think they are. They know a fool when they see one. Romney pandered to anyone he felt would vote for him and his continued affliction of “foot in mouth disease” proved to be his downfall.

Obama bought the election with an increase in food stamps, welfare, free phones. The total of the population that is on food stamps, welfare, and free phones is around 47%. If it came down to running on a record, any record, obama wouldn’t have stood a chance.

@maybe-of course Obama bought the election with the 47%. But, the Republicans blew it when they didn’t recognize the 47% and of course they wouldn’t vote to reduce their welfare payments. The Democrats did a much better job of getting out the vote and making sure that the 47% knew what could happen. They still have not learned because the first thing they always say is we must cut entitlements. That is what the 47% live on. Would you vote to reduce your income? I don’t think so. A man like Romney should have known better. He wasn’t speaking at a country club and should have known they would have spy’s there.

I totally concur.

If Romney was dumb enough to say something like that in front of a bunch of people (and he was) he deserved what he got. It is a tech age and there is always someone recording.

Scott Prouty looking for fame and fortune. A phoney who was hired by the Dem’s to go undercover.

Hero, not! Just another knuckldragger.

You sir, don’t have a clue as to what you are talking about. Read this articlehttp://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/03/scott-prouty-47-percent-video
You will find that no one “hired” him, he is not looking for “fame nor fortune.”
He did a great service to this country by having the courage to release his video knowing full well that the repercussions he could have faced would be devastating and harmful.

Yeah Scott Prouty, American Hero!
