Former Osage man sentenced to prison for receiving child porn

CEDAR RAPIDS – A man who received child pornography was sentenced March 14, 2013, to 14 years in federal prison.

Kevin Perrin, age 49, formerly of Osage, Iowa, received the sentence after a December 21, 2012, guilty plea to one count of receiving child pornography. In a plea agreement, Perrin admitted he knowingly used the Internet to receive and distribute child pornography.

Perrin was sentenced in Cedar Rapids by United States District Court Chief Judge Linda R. Reade. Perrin was sentenced to 168 months’ imprisonment. A special assessment of $100 was imposed, and Perrin must also serve a five-year term of supervised release. He must comply with all sex offender registration and public notification requirements.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark Tremmel and was investigated by the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.

It IS murder. Murder of a child’s self esteem and deep wounding of their soul. No molester should ever be allowed to roam the streets freely. All they live for is to prey on and find more victims. They are sick worthless cretins. HANG UN HIGH BY THEIR BALLS!

A pervert looking at child porn on a computer is committing murder, is that what you are saying?

Glad to see this lazy ignorant pig locked up. Hope he gets taught a lesson in prison. He’s creepy even when he’s not looking at kiddy porn. He wasn’t charged with molestation but I’m betting he’s done it. Baby rapers should get LIFE!

I am saying child porn is not looking at illegal photos. What it is is the mental and physical destruction of a child. I am not saying it is worse than murder but i believe on par with murder, as far as the evilness of the act itself.

That’s not what you said. You said it was the worst imaginable and now you CAN imagine worse? How can I believe anything you say now?

People like this are simply the worst kind of evil imaginable. I have said it before and will say it again…there is no rehabing this evil. So if you are convicted of possesing, distributing, child porn you receive a mandatory life in prison or in states which allow it the death penalty, no grey areas no plea bargains, just one or the other.

A man looking at an illegal photo is far worse than one who murders, right? Is that what you’re saying?

@ another brick in the wall… To me it is there Are things worse than murder. Do you have any idea what the kids go through that have been used in this way? Until you have been abused or molested by a piece of crap like this guy you have know idea what life is like. 99 percent of woman and men who struggle with severe depression were molested or abused as a child. Even if the guy never touched a kid (which if he had the chance I am sure he would) these kids in the pictures will never have a normal life. He may not have taken the pictures pr touched them but because of him there. Is a market for this crap.

OK, just let me clarify your position. You are saying it’s less of a crime to kill the kid in the pictures the man was looking at?

That is looking at an illegal picture is worse than killing the subject of said picture, right?

@another brick in the wall. I am just going to explain it this way. If someone came up to me with a gun in my face and said get in the car or I will shoot you right here I would tell him to shoot me right were I stood. I would rather be killed at the moment than who knows if he got me alone somewhere and end up killing me anyway. My heart goes out to the children who are in these pictures. I am not saying the kids would have been better off killed I am just saying there are things worse than death. I just didn’t explain myself very well. Sorry about that. I just hope the children involved in all this get the help they will need as time goes on.
