WASHINGTON, D.C. (UPI) — A national poll by Quinnipiac University indicated Hillary Clinton would beat three potential Republican candidates in the 2016 presidential election.
The poll, released Thursday, pitted former Senator and Secretary of State Clinton against New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, the university said.
Clinton won against all three Republican candidates; 45 to 37 percent against Christie, 50 to 34 percent against Rubio and 50 to 38 percent against Ryan.
“Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would start a 2016 presidential campaign with enormous advantages,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “She obviously is by far the best known and her more than 20 years in the public spotlight allows her to create a very favorable impression on the American people. But it is worth noting that she had very good poll numbers in 2006 looking toward the 2008 election, before she faced a relative unknown in Barack Obama.”
Vice President Joseph Biden and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo did not fare as well in the survey, the university said.
Christie beat Biden 43 to 40 percent, as well as Cuomo, 45 to 28 percent.
Cuomo was also beaten by Ryan, 42 to 37 percent, while he tied with Rubio, 37 – 37 percent.
Biden, meanwhile, led Rubio 45 to 38 percent and beat Ryan 45 to 42 percent.
“Although some Republicans don’t think New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie is conservative enough for their taste, he runs best of the three Republicans tested and would defeat two of the top Democrats,” Brown said. “He obviously is doing better than the Democrats’ rising star, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, despite other indications of anti-Republican sentiment.”
Quinnipiac University questioned 1,944 registered voters between February 27 and March 4. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minis 2.2 percentage points.

Has anyone else noticed that most conservatives who post on here have a very difficult time constructing a proper sentence? Spelling, grammar and punctuation seem to have them stymied. It’s just another reason why a Democrat is leading our country right now.
Others have trouble with proper spelling, grammar, and usage here, too. A blogger known as MC Bad Azz posts comments which are atrocious.

msgordy the true parasites are the big corporations. GE, Boeing, Exxon, Verizon, Kraft, Apple, and many others. They are making billions in profits and many getting tax refunds or paying very little (under 5%) taxes. Plus many of these are getting subsidies. These are the true welfare queens.
@happy, let me ask you this hypothetically speaking. Lets say they get rid of all tax loop holes and put a straight 10% across the board. A company that makes a billion a year would be paying a whole lot more than a person making 20,000 a year. To me that sounds like a good idea, what are your ideas about that. No arguments here just asking your opinion.
maybe in theory a flat tax rate sounds good. The problem comes when you look at the actual cost to the poor and working poor. To someone making 1 million dollars that would leave them with 900,000 to live on. I would think you could live on that pretty easy. On the other hand if you are making $20,000 a year you are struggling to get by on that and you would have to struggle even more if you paid a flat tax rate. Now you have to get by on $18,000. A flat tax has is a much greater hardship on the poor and working poor. Do you see the problem? I know there are a lot of people that equate being poor to being lazy and in some cases that is true. But in most it isn’t.
@happy guy-you forgot a few welfare company’s like FedX, UPS, Winnebago, and of course the U.S. Military is probably the worst one of the welfare queens what with the medical expense, full paid retirements, living expenses for family’s and other stuff. The point is that these are all necessary for employment and safety. Do I agree that we need to close tax loopholes, yes I do. But these company’s provide jobs and therefore livings and the people that work there pay taxes. If you are going after something for welfare go after the ones that do not work and have multiple children with different fathers and then expect us to pay for them. Of course the drug users are right there with the welfare queens.

Happy I see what you are saying but if they took out taxes per pay check for someone making 20,000 year that would be less than 40.00 a week taken out of their check, 2000 as a lump sum is a whole lot but taken alittle at a time wouldn’t hurt as much and eventually you would get used to it. I am not trying to start an argument or a debate, I am just trying to see if what some are talking about is actually a good idea or not.
LVS These company’s are making billions in profits. In many cases record profits yet there work forces have declined. By your way of thinking we need to give subsidies so these companies can pay their employee’s. That is bunk!! There profits are the only reward they should be getting. Not my tax dollars. I would have no problem giving a tax break of some kind for every new job they create, but to keep giving them subsidies for no reason is wrong.
maybe what you are saying about people getting used to making less is true. But at the same time $40 a week may keep them off food stamps or heating assistance or put gas in their car. $40 a week to someone making $20,000 a year is a lot of money. And making $40 a week less puts a very large hardship on them.
Happy I know for a fact that you are right but still usung some sort of flat tax with NO loopholes there could be some type of comprimise.
maybe I agree some sort of compromise could be worked out. I think closing the loopholes is a necessity. But I also believe the more you make the higher your tax bracket should be. I would have no problem with a flat tax with brackets ranging from 1% to 10%. I just don’t think it is fair to tax everyone the same percentage.
@happy guy-I’m sorry. Maybe I didn’t say it right but I thought I said I WAS in favor of closing the loopholes. I will go further than that and say, not just for the corporations but for private citizens as well. Why would you want to create a tax and then make a loophole to avoid paying it? Never has made any sense to me.

I dont think we should be concerned with 2016. The way it is now and the potential of debt in 2016, we will need superman to get rid of the debt. I believe POTUS is so far left right now that if Hillary was president she would be thrown to the dogs as conservative.
