DES MOINES – Iowa will lose millions during the federal government sequestration, according to information released this week from the Iowa Department of Management.
Department of Management Director David Roederer prepared a spreadsheet showing the lost revenues to the state of Iowa. The spreadsheet shows about $46 million reduction to various Iowa agencies. Education is the hardest hit, slated to lose $14 million. Public health is next, losing $8.7 million and Human Rights the next biggest loser with a $4.3 million reduction.
Even the blind will suffer, losing $40,000.
