NIACC basketball games moved to Wednesday

MASON CITY – The NIACC women’s and men’s basketball teams Region XI tournament games scheduled for Tuesday have been moved to Wednesday due to the anticipated upcoming storm across the state.

The fourth-seeded NIACC women host fifth-seeded Southeastern at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The seventh-seeded NIACC men play at second-seeded Kirkwood at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

All of the first round games in both tournaments will be played Wednesday.

The semifinals and finals for the women’s tournament are set for Friday and Saturday, respectively, in Keokuk. The semifinals and finals for the men will be Friday and Sunday, respectively, hosted by the higher seed.

WEDNESDAY’S GAMES

WOMEN’S FIRST ROUND MATCHUPS

No. 8 Ellsworth (11-19, 4-12) at No. 1 Kirkwood (26-4, 15-1)

No. 5 Southeastern (16-14, 7-9) at No. 4 NIACC (18-12, 11-5)

No. 6 Marshalltown (11-19, 6-10) at No. 3 Iowa Central (21-8, 12-4)

No. 7 Iowa Lakes (9-21, 5-11) at No. 2 DMACC (23-7, 12-4).

Note – Winners of the four first-round games meet in the semifinals at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday in Keokuk. The championship game is set for 3 p.m. Saturday in Keokuk.

MEN’S FIRST ROUND MATCHUPS

No. 8 Clinton (8-19, 2-12) at No. 1 Iowa Lakes (23-6, 11-3)

No. 5 Iowa Central (17-13, 7-7) at No. 4 Southwestern (15-14, 7-7)

No. 6 DMACC (16-12, 6-8) at No. 3 Ellsworth (16-12, 8-6)

No. 7 NIACC (19-11, 6-8) at No. 2 Kirkwood (18-12, 9-5).
