PORTLAND, Ore., March 3 (UPI) — Damian Lillard netted 24 points Saturday and the Portland Trail Blazers showed signs of breaking out of a recent slump with a 109-94 win over Minnesota.
J.J. Hickson provided a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds as the Blazers won for the second time in three contests following a disastrous seven-game losing streak.
LaMarcus Aldridge (17 points, eight rebounds) Nicolas Batum and Meyers Leonard (12 points apiece) also added some scoring punch for Portland.
The Timberwolves got 23 points and eight boards from Derrick Williams but it wasn’t enough to avoid their fifth consecutive setback.
Luke Ridnour supplied 18 points and six assists in the loss.
