IOWA CITY – Iowa held Purdue to just 48 points -its lowest point total against the Hawkeyes since 1983- in beating the Boilers 58-48 Wednesday night.
Iowa improves to 14-2 at home this season, and 25-0 the past three years in games they’ve allowed fewer than 60 points. Overall, the Hawks are 18-10 and 7-8 in the conference.
“We played phenomenal defense for the entire game,” Iowa coach Fran McCaffery said.
Iowa was without starting freshman point guard Mike Gesell.
Aaron White scored 18 points as Iowa improves 9-1this season when he scores 16 points or more. White also led Iowa on the glass with nine rebounds.
Roy Devyn Marble scored 18 points. He has scored at least 15 points in the past five games, and has scored in double-figures 21 times this season.
