Man sues sister-in-law: false accusation

NEW YORK, Feb. 3 (UPI) — A New York lawyer filed suit against his sister-in-law, who he said falsely accused him of sexual assault after the two allegedly had sex to get her pregnant.

Ted McCullough, 47, sued Adrienne Mesko, 37, in the Manhattan Supreme Court for $7 million, accusing her of defamation, malicious prosecution and intentional infliction of emotional distress, the New York Post reported Sunday.

McCullough said he was trying to help Mesko become pregnant out the goodness of his heart because she was unable to conceive with her infertile husband, the Post reported.

The Post reported McCullough accused him of sexually assaulting her because she was afraid to admit to her family she had had sex with her sister’s husband in order to get pregnant.

Mesko, however, told the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office that McCullough had sexually assaulted her. She got an order of protection against McCullough; he later obtained one against her.

Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said there is an active police investigation into Mesko’s allegations that McCullough sexually assaulted her.

“Adrienne has never lied to me. That is unbelievable, his allegation that she asked him to have sex so she could have a baby,” Mesko’s father, Gregory Chiaramonte, said, adding the case had been dealt with privately in Family Court and he didn’t know why the lawyer was “bringing it to this level.”
