CEDAR FALLS, Iowa, Feb. 2 (UPI) — Anthony James provided 16 points for Northern Iowa Saturday and the Panthers forced 13 turnovers in their 57-52 victory over No. 14 Wichita State.
Marc Sonnen added nine points and Seth Tuttle chipped in with eight and eight rebounds as the Panthers (12-11, 5-6 MVC) broke a two-game losing streak.
Tuttle sealed the win with a block of a Nick Wiggins shot, a subsequent free throw and a slam dunk in the closing seconds.
The Shockers (19-4, 8-3) saw their four-game winning streak snapped despite Carl Hall’s 20 points and five rebounds.
Cleanthony Early added 10 points and six rebounds for Wichita State.
