NHL: St. Louis 5, Minnesota 4 (OT)

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 27 (UPI) — Vladimir Sobotka tallied 2:16 into overtime Sunday, lifting the St. Louis Blues to a 5-4 decision over Minnesota.

On the game-winner, Andy McDonald got the puck to the left of the Wild net and centered it to Sobotka, who shook off a check and one-timed it past Niklas Backstrom for the winning goal.

Wade Redden, Patrik Berglund, Chris Stewart and Barrett Jackman each scored a goal for the Blues, who won for the fifth time in six games to begin the lockout-shortened season.

Brian Elliott stopped 12-of-16 shots for St. Louis.

Zach Parise contributed two goals and assist while Dany Heatley and Mikko Koivu each provided a score and an assist for Minnesota, which dropped its third straight.

Backstrom finished with 29 saves for the Wild.
