TEHRAN – The Iranian Supreme Leader claimed on Wednesday that “global arrogance is doing all within its power to confront the Iranian nation.”
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with members of the intelligence units of the Armed Forces in Tehran.
“The global arrogance tries to bring the Iranian nation to its knees by exerting more pressures and toughening economic sanctions but to no avail as the vigilant Iranian nation tolerates all hardships to thwart the enemy’s conspiracies,” said Ayatollah Khamenei.
Some 34 years after the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the “God’s promise has been revealed through the success of the Iranian nation in dealing with regional and global developments as well as its significant scientific breakthrough,” said Khamenei.
“Triumph of the Islamic Revolution is regarded as the fulfillment of God’s promise,” said Khamenei, adding that “the success of the Iranian nation will continue in various fields despite heavy pressures being exerted by the enemies and global arrogance.
“During seditious moves of 2009, the enemy assumed they had gained success in their plots against the Iranian nation but the vigilant nation managed to deal a heavy blow to their foreign opponents and their domestic mercenaries,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
“The brave Iranian nation is determined to once again demonstrate its power, sense of freshness and understanding to the world,” according to Khamenei.
Ayatollah Khamenei also underlined the significant role being played by intelligence forces in carrying out their duties within the armed forces.
