PELLA – The NIACC wrestling team returns to action Saturday at the Central College Invitational.
The meet starts at 9 a.m.
Competing for the Trojans Saturday will be JP Gamez (125), Zach Welter (125), Cody Casteline (133), Blake Spotts (141), Sam Solis (141), Javon Jackson (149), Dillon Christensen (157), Aaron Jesser (157, unattached), Parker Sturges (165), Thomas Daniels (174), Basil Minto (184), D Hansen (184), Shakheim Chapman (197), Jose Chavez Del Real (285) and Ryan Dugger (285).
Last Saturday at the William Penn Invitational, Minto, who is ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA at 184 pounds, won the title by topping Iowa State’s Quinn Wilson by major decision, 8-0.
Also for NIACC at William Penn, Daniels was fourth at 174 pounds, Spotts was sixth at 141 pounds, Sturges was sixth at 165 pounds and Alex Stockton was sixth at 285 pounds.
After Saturday’s invitational, NIACC wrestles at Ellsworth Community College Tuesday in a dual meet at Iowa Falls. The Trojans host the regional duals on Saturday.
