Pack smacks Vikes 24-10 to advance

green_bay_packers_logoGREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 24-10 Saturday night at Lambeau Field to advance in the playoffs.

Minnesota was without starting quarterback Christian Ponder, out with an arm bruise. Starting in his place was the dynamic Joe Webb, who helped orchestrate an opening drive that chewed up about 6 minutes and led to a field goal. Webb finished 11 for 30 with a touchdown but did rush for 68 yards.

The Packers kept running back Adrian Peterson somewhat under control, holding him to 99 yards on 22 carries.

Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers was too good and too efficient, going 23 for 33 for 274 yards and a touchdown.

The win sends Green Bay to San Francisco next Saturday for an NFC divisional game with the 49ers.
