MASON CITY – A Mason City woman fresh out of jail on December 11th on felony forgery charges was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on Saturday on new charges of unlawful possession of prescription drugs and third degree theft.
Brenda Leah Askildson, 50, was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail Saturday at 1:33 PM.
Askildson was released from jail on December 11th under the supervision of the Department of Corrections pending a court date on two counts of felony forgery, a class D felony. She has plead not guilty in that case and wived her right to a speedy trial, which was set for February 26th, 2013. (FECR021532)
Askildson is also awaiting a court date on another felony charge of unauthorized use of a credit card to which she plead guilty. She awaiting a court date on January 14th, 2013 for a plea change and sentencing.
Earlier this year, Askildson had felony forgery charges dismissed by Judge Patrick Byrne. Byrne also dismissed felony forgery charges against Askildson in 2011.
Among a long list of other charges and convictions, Askildson was convicted of a felony forgery charge in 2007 and was sent to prison where she spent less than 2 years of a 5 year sentence.
