Iowa thrashes South Carolina State, 90-46

Roy Devyn Marble
IOWA CITY – Roy Devyn Marble scored 27 points in just 22 minutes in a 90-46 Iowa win over South Carolina State Tuesday night in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa improved its record to 10-2, which is its best start since the 2004-05 season.
Marble has scored in double figures in all but one game this season. Of the top six single-game individual point totals posted at Iowa under McCaffery, Marble owns three of them.
“He’s a very unselfish player,” McCaffery said of Marble. “I don’t ever want him to get away from that. But I do want him to be the guy. You know, I think that’s what he’s starting to do.”
Iowa point guard Mike Gesell had a career-high eight assists with just one turnover, while Adam Woodbury posted a career-high nine rebounds.
The Hawkeyes made at least 10 three-pointers in back-to-back games.
