Convicted Mason City criminal skips arraignment, now in slammer

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman previously convicted of a wide range of crimes and wanted for skipping an arraignment last month related to a third degree theft charge is now in jail.

Denise Elaine Gaulke, 50, was picked up at Kohl’s Department Store, 556 Indianhead Drive, on Thursday, October 18th at about 12:10 PM by Mason City police and charged with third degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor.  Gaulke was set for an arraignment hearing on November 13th but did not appear in court.

A warrant for Gaulke’s arrest was immediately set by Judge Gregg Rosenbadt.  Gaulke was finally booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail Wednesday morning at 9:08 AM after turning herself in.  She is now held on $2,000 cash bond.

According to records, Gaulke has also previously been charged with 5th degree theft in 2009, fraudulent practice in the 3rd degree in 1998, forgery in 1998, forgery in 2003, forgery in 2000, 2nd degree theft in 2005, 2nd degree theft in 2004, probation violation in 1998, possession of a controlled substance in 2003, parole violation in 2005, unauthorized use of credit cards in 2003, simple assault, and other charges.

Probably they got to built a whole new section on the jail to hold this hippo, her chin is the size of my cheeks. The back ones.

This woman has “lucky” written all over her…now if she can just draw Judge Weiland she will have hit the Trifecta and be back among us before the day is out!

Since Judge Weiland appears to not like women, this woman would probably get a decent sentence imposed upon her. The male criminals get off scott free. Either way, it’s time for this judge to be removed from the bench.

I smell probation.
