MASON CITY – Freshman Chelsey Jacox scored 21 points to lead NIACC to a 75-65 victory over Marshalltown Community College Wednesday night in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
NIACC (6-5 overall, 1-0 in the ICCAC) also received 16 points from freshman Lateeka Thompson, 13 points from freshman Kadejah Young, 11 from freshman Lashae Brooks and 10 from freshman Jessica Rogers.
NIACC, which has won five of its last six games, led 32-28 at the half and outscored Marshalltown (3-6, 0-1) 43-37 in the second half.
Mackenzie Gott led Marshalltown with 20 points. Mady Van Metre scored 14 points for the Tigers.
NIACC returns to action Dec. 28 against South Suburban Community College in the Illinois Central Tournament.
