NIACC men, women win

No. 3 NIACC men cruise past Madison, 90-51
MASON CITY – The No. 3 NIACC men’s basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 90-51 victory over Madison College Sunday afternoon in the NIACC gym.
Freshman guard Sam Skogen (Mason City, Iowa) led the Trojans (10-3 overall) with a career-high 17 points.
NIACC also received 14 points from Matthew Don and 13 each from Chris Davis and David Humphries.
NIACC led 55-26 at the half and outscored the Wolfpack 35-25 in the second half.
NIACC returns to action next Sunday at home against the Waldorf College junior varsity.
NIACC women roll past Madison, 78-50
MASON CITY – The NIACC women’s basketball team evened its record at 5-5 with a 78-50 victory over Madison College Sunday afternoon in the NIACC gym.
Freshman guard Lateeka led the Lady Trojans with a game-high 21 points.
NIACC also received 15 points each from Kadejah Young and Chelsey Jacox and 12 from Allysa Meyer.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Marshalltown Community College in its ICCAC opener.
