Mason City police elaborate on last week’s SUV fire

MASON CITY – The Mason City Police Department said today via press release that no foul play is suspected in an SUV fire they and the Mason City Fire Department responded to on Friday where an adult male’s body was found.

The fire was located in the 600 block of North Maryland Friday evening, December 7th.

At the scene, the remains of an adult male was found in the passenger seat of the SUV after the fire was extinguished.

The identity of the man is known and was determined by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office.

No further information will be released.

How do u kno was 80? And if it was a suicide most likely he would be in the driver set

What was an 80 yr old man doing in a secluded area not to mention in the passenger seat? Something dont sound right about this.

It was suicide, he had cancer.
