AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women’s basketball team’s 42-point win over intrastate rival Drake was enough to propel the Cyclones (5-0) up two spots to No. 22 in this week’s Associated Press top-25.
The Cyclones only game last week was against the Bulldogs, but the Cyclones were impressive in the win. Iowa State has beaten its opponents by 28 points while holding them to a Big 12-best 45.4 points per game.
Iowa State will face its biggest test this week when it travels to Iowa (6-3) for the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series matchup Thursday evening. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
