MASON CITY – The NIACC men’s basketball team moved up to No. 3 in the NJCAA Division II poll Tuesday.
NIACC was No. 11 in the Nov. 13 poll and moved to No. 5 in the Nov. 20 poll.
Mott Community College (Flint, Mich.) is ranked No. 1 with a record of 4-0. Louisburg College (North Carolina) is 8-0 and ranked No. 2.
DMACC (8-2) is ranked No. 11.
NIACC (9-1 overall) routed the Luther College junior varsity 90-58 Monday night in Decorah. Chris Davis led the Trojans with 27 points and David Humphries scored 16 points.
NIACC’s lone loss came at the hands of Marshalltown (86-63) on Nov. 6. Marshalltown (10-0) is receiving votes in the NJCAA Division I poll.
NIACC, which has won eight games in a row, returns to action next Tuesday at Rochester Community Technical College (2-1). The Trojans open ICCAC play at Kirkwood (5-3) on Dec. 7.
