MASON CITY – Freshman Lateeka Thompson (Burnsville, Minn.) scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead NIACC to a 60-52 victory over Riverland Community College Tuesday night in the NIACC gym.
NIACC (3-4) led 35-30 at the half and outscored the Blue Devils 25-22 in the second half.
Freshman Lashae Brooks (Nett Lake, Minn.) scored nine points and had 14 rebounds for the Lady Trojans, who won their second straight contest. Freshman Taylor Bianchi (Monroe, Ia.) scored nine points and freshman Emily Bell (Algona, Ia.) scored nine points.
NIACC returns to action Monday at the Grand View junior varsity in Des Moines.
