The FBI Salt Lake City Division’s Safe Streets Task Force, Salt Lake City Police Department, and Cottonwood Heights Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify a serial bank robber who is alleged to have robbed three Utah banks in the past month. On the morning of October 17, 2012, a robber walked into Bank of the West near 2000 East and 6800 South in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. He matches the description of the person who robbed Zions Bank at 455 East South Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah, on September 20, 2012, and again on October 9, 2012.
In all three bank robberies, the subject has worn a hooded-sweatshirt pulled up over a cap, sunglasses, and blue gloves. During each robbery, he has presented a threatening note and left with the cash. No one has been injured. He is described as a white male, mid-20s to early 30s, 5’7” to 5’11” tall, approximately 170 pounds, with a thin build.
FBI Special Agent in Charge David J. Johnson has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the bank robber’s arrest and conviction. The public is advised to not approach the bank robber and to phone in tips to the FBI Salt Lake City Division at (801) 579-1400 or e-mail tips to saltlakecity@ic.fbi.gov.

The FBI Salt Lake City Division will hold a press availability to address the robberies on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. Members of the media are invited to gather outside FBI offices at 257 East 200 South for interviews.
