Hahn Is One Of NCAA’s Players Of The Week

AMES, Iowa – In recognition of her season-high 26 digs that helped the Cyclones down then-No. 1 Nebraska last weekend, Iowa State libero Kristen Hahn has been named one of the NCAA’s top players of the week.

The junior out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa is averaging 4.63 digs per set this season, ranked fourth in the Big 12 and has led the Cyclones in digs in nine of the team’s 10 matches. Earlier this week, Hahn was named the Big 12’s top defensive player of the week for the fifth time in her career.

Iowa State’s win over the Huskers was the first in program history over a No. 1 team and the first win for the Cyclones over the Huskers at Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State’s only other win over Nebraska was on the road in 2009.

The NCAA’s other top players of the week were Kansas State’s Kaitlynn Pelger and Pepperdine’s Jasmine Orozco.

The No. 19 Cyclones (6-4, 0-0 Big 12) open Big 12 play this weekend, hosting Baylor (13-2, 0-0 Big 12) on Saturday Sept. 22, at 6:30 p.m. CDT.
