Wright said some of the owners of the mobile homes are deceased. Abating the taxes may also help with the sale of the property, Wright said.
A check of the Rayburn Mobile Home Park Tuesday morning showed virtually no inhabitable standing structures and only piles of rubble which remain from a 2011 fire at that location. Read more about that incident here.
“What is remaining is stacked back in the woods,” Wright mentioned. “One is still standing on the north side of the lot. It needs to be demolished, it is very scary looking.”
County Engineer Mary Kelly said that paving has begun on Highway B-20 improvements north west of Mason City. The project should be complete in the next couple of weeks. She also said 250th Street would be open today and crews are working on pavement markings now.
A sheriff’s deputy was again in attendance at this week’s meeting in the back of the room, observing.
