MASON CITY – The Mason City Council will meet Tuesday night at the Mason City Library at 7 PM.
On the agenda, the Council will set October 31st from 5 PM to 7 PMas trick or treat night.
The Council will also accept an annual report from the Mason City Housing Authority, whose mission is to “promote adequate and affordable housing.”
The Housing Authority served 429 Section 8 Voucher program participants in FY 2012, up from 417 in FY 2011. The Housing Authority had $2,268,035 in revenue in FY 2012, mostly from HUD Grants.
Public hearings will be held on three issues:
– Determining an area of the city to be an economic development area
– Approving and authorizing a development agreement between the City and Legacy Mason City, PL for a senior housing development just south of the Menard’s store
– Vacation of 1st Street SW between Linden Drive and South Taylor Ave. for a Mercy Hospital expansion project
The Council may also permanently vacate an alley to Mason City Harley as part of a development agreement. This item is on 2nd reading or final.
