CLEAR LAKE – Around 1:20 pm Saturday, Clear Lake Firefighters responded to a brush fire at the 186 mile marker on the Avenue of the Saints.
They were requesting the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s help with the traffic. “The cars are coming up and going through the smoke. The wind has turned, but it’s still very thick.”
As the fire was heading towards the nearby cornfield, Firefighters were wetting down the area to prevent it from spreading further. They requested assistance from Ventura and Swaledale.
The fire was reported under control by 2:00 pm.
