ISLAMABAD — At least four people were killed Saturday in a suspected U.S. drone attack at a compound in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region near the Afghan border, officials said.
Four missiles fired by unmanned aircraft targeted the Daigaan area of Dattakhel region of North Waziristan, one of seven districts known to harbour militants, a security official said.
“Four people were killed and another three were injured in the attack,” he said on condition of anonymity.
The identity of those killed was not known.
It was the first such attack since Aug. 24 when at least 16 alleged militants were reportedly killed in three separate drone attacks in the district.
