Car burglar nabbed again, then released again

Kaleb Austin Wright, age 18, was arrested again early Sunday morning while attempting to enter unoccupied vehicles in the parking lots of Target and Mills Fleet Farm.

Wright was booked into Cerro Gordo County Jail shortly after 10 am Sunday on one aggravated misdemeanor count of attempted 3rd degree burglary of an unoccupied motor vehicle, one simple misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one simple misdemeanor count of public intoxication.

After spending less than 5 hours sobering up in jail, a Cerro Gordo County Magistrate released Wright back to the streets on his own recognizance, pending further court proceedings.

Wright was also arrested in Cerro Gordo County on July 25th for warrants in Osage County following an investigation by numerous law enforcement agencies in Mitchell County.

Wright was jailed in Mitchell County and charged with 15 criminal offenses;
7 aggravated misdemeanor counts of 3rd degree burglary of an unoccupied motor vehicle
2 aggravated misdemeanor counts of possession of burglar tools
2 aggravated misdemeanor counts of conspiracy
2 simple misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor
1 aggravated misdemeanor count 3rd degree theft $500 to $1,000
1 simple misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Also charged in the Mitchell County case is 20-year-old Taylor Ann Toothman of Clear Lake who faces 15 criminal offenses;

Two minors, Dylan McBride and Kodey Maine, listed on a search warrant in the case with Wright and Toothman have no charges in online court records at this time.

Kaleb Wright was released from Mitchell County Jail by District Court Judge DeDra L. Schroeder on August 3rd after she dropped a $5,000 bond requirement set early by Magistrate Nicholas T. Larson. Wright at the time of his latest arrest is supposed to be under supervision of the Iowa Department of Corrections. It is unclear rather the new charges from Sunday will be a violation of his pre-trial release status.

The offenses allegedly occurred between June 24th and July 1st. Law enforcement in the area is soliciting the public’s help in providing any more information on other crimes these youths may be involved in.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
