MASON CITY – The Mason City School board Monday night held a discussion on how to break it to the public that taxes need to be raised or introduced.

This discussion was held after raises were approved for teachers in the union (at a 3.94% increase) and Superintendent Anita Micich and other non-bargaining employees at an average rate increase of 3%.
