MASON CITY – A group of Mason City citizens is asking for more volunteers to help with a park restoration project.
Glen and Sue Hendershot of the Mason Garden Club are organizing the restoration of the duck pond island at East Park in Mason City.
Volunteers are needed to donate sun loving plants and assist in planting small plants.
If you are interesting in helping, please contact Maxine Brinkman at 641 423 4877. Maxine will pick up plants and assist with scheduling volunteers.
Planting and maintenance will begin next July 15 until complete.
I personally thank the Hendershots for all their dedication to this project. It looks wonderful and without volunteers in our community this task is impossible…..Being a volunteer in the community, myself and my husband know the labor that one puts in good faith for everyone to enjoy. thank you
