Fort Dodge Woman, 30, To Federal Prison On Meth Conspiracy

A woman who conspired to manufacture methamphetamine was sentenced July 3, 2012, to 4 years in federal prison.

Lindsey Myers, 30, from Fort Dodge, Iowa, received the prison term after a February 24, 2012, guilty plea to conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine.

At her plea hearing, Myers admitted her involvement in a conspiracy that manufactured at least 50 grams of actual (pure) methamphetamine from about 2008 through September 2011 in the Fort Dodge, Iowa, area. According to pseudoephedrine logs, Myers obtained at least 214.56 grams of pseudoephedrine for the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Myers was sentenced in Sioux City by United States District Court Judge Mark W. Bennett. Myers was sentenced to 48 months’ imprisonment. A special assessment of $100 was imposed. She must also serve a 5-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system. Myers is being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until she can be transported to a federal prison.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S. Wehde and was investigated by the Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, and Fort Dodge Police Department.
