MCPD asking for help in hit and run case

MASON CITY – Mason City police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a car that struck a bicyclist Thursday morning.

At about 12:50 AM, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of 12th Street NW for a collision between a motor vehicle and a bicycle.  Witnesses reported the vehicle had left traveling east on 12th Street NW prior to the arrival of the officers and paramedics.

The bicycle rider was identified as William Holck, 43, of Mason City.  Holck received only minor injuries as a result of the collision and did not require immediate medical treatment.

The MCPD is asking for your assistance in trying to locate the vehicle and driver responsible.  The vehicle is described as having a newer body style, a shiny finish which is either silver or gray in color  and possibly squared-off tail lights.  The vehicle may have minor damage to the front bumper on the passenger side.

If you have any information about this case please contact the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636 and request to speak with the Detail Commander.
