MASON CITY – Vic Koenigsberg lived in the “B” building at the Key Apartments in 1995 and was home in the early morning hours when Jodi Huisentruit vanished.
Koenigsberg, a former railroad worker who is 68 years old, says the Mason City Police had “absolutely nothing” to do with the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit.
On Friday afternoon, Vic offered some more of his story about what he thinks happened to Jody.
His theory centers around an Iowan, William Barloon, who was working in Kuwait in 1993 and abducted by the Iraqi government and released just weeks after Huisentruit vanished.
Koenigsberg claims that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein made a deal with the family of Barloon to trade for his release.

You know Vic believed what he says so what is the big deal. If you don’t believe him that’s OK but why take it out on NIT. If Matt had not done the interview you wouldn’t have anything to bitch about. If you don’t like it don’t read it. As for me, Matt know who I am. I have sent my real name to him. I sat and watched this video with an open mind. And after it was all done, it took all I had to keep from laughing. I don’t even think that “nut job” can accurately describe this guy. I’ll use lunatic instead.
Its one thing to throw out unfounded innuendos without any proof, but its totally another thing to actually have proof of what you are talking about.
How does Mr. Koenigsberg know so much about the two men captured by Sadam Hussain?
Did he talk to the Barloon’s from New Hampton?
How does he know Mrs. Barloon took or gave footage of Jodi to Saddam Hussain?
Does he have proof or is this just his imagination working overtime?

Hey “LOL” just the fact that you are here validates NIT. There are millions upon millions of websites to choose from… and here you are spending time on NIT. You can’t resist, I can’t blame you for that, as NIT is awesome. As for interviewing Vic… why not? It’s an interesting story at the very least. It stimulates discussion. You forget the Iowa DCI and the FBI were involved in the investigation.As a Kidnapping its a FEDERAL crime.I am sure the FBI would follow up any legimate leads.
I remember at work the next day,I was called into HR and had to talk to some FBI Investigators as they were verifying I was at work that day,as I remember hearing about it around 1st break as people there heard it on the radio.
Remember,Mason City is not a big town and often the best law enforcement people do not go to towns of Mason City’s size.Look at the Police Chief at the time…he was crooked also… as he was Head of alot bigger police department…he was charged with crimes and eventually Fired from that job.
This case will probally never be solved unless bones are dug up somewhere.To believe Saddam was involved how nutz do you have to be?
This guy thats featured in this article didnt even know she lived in the “B” building..So,how credible can he be?Plus,he apparantly lived on the 2nd floor not the 3rd and he lived on the side of the building that has studios and she lived on the other side with the 1 and 2 bedroom apartments.So,what relevant facts can be said when he heard noisy neighbors above him that turned out to be 2 young girls living there..having alot of partys?I remember that well,that was after she moved to the “C” building.I lived 2 apartments down from them.
I also remember the apartment manager after I got home on the day of the abduction telling me,that Jodi told her that she was being stalked by someone she knew.And this was passed on to the FBI.
To put all the blame on the MCPD?Ludicus..my question is why did KIMT wait so long to call the Police.I am sure they were told by Jodi she was being stalked…IF they called the police when she didnt show and within 30 mins after she didnt show and after they tried to call her with no answer..maybe there would be evidence as I am sure people going to work that morning,driving thru the parking lot destroyed evidence.

I would suggest that 90% of the comments on this rag are anonymous and you challenge only those writers (who are also readers and eyes on your ads)who disagree. You have done some stories that are very news worthy and informative I’ve enjoyed several of them. But trust me I’ve done braver things then comment on NIT dont flatter yourself. It’s occaissionally you sink too tabloid journalism. So you get called on it. Your really trying too hard sometimes. I know for a fact that they have more than one crooked cop on the force. Some are far enough up the ladder it would take a good undercover operation to catch them.

after watching the video this guy needs to see a doctor and soon.
I also lived in the “B” building from 1992 to july of 2000.Actually,right down the hall from Jody’s 1st apt in the “B” building before she moved to the C building to have the balcony overlooking the winnebago.And I was also home,getting ready to go to work as I worked the 1st shift at minnesota rubber at the time.
I do not think the MCPD was involved either.My focus would be her EX that lived with her while in the “B” Building or someone she knew.Either by doing a story or someone who “ran” in the same crowd as she did.
I do remember she was jumpy and rarely talked to anyone.I often seen her going to the laundry in the “A” building or when I got home she would be going out to do her rollerblading.I often said hello with no response or if I would go into the laundry room,she would jump like she was scared of something rarely smiled and left quickly.
Thats just my impression of the few times I met her,I am sure she was super nice to her friends and such.Just not so to strangers and neighbors,as she had to know I was a neighbor as I lived just down the hall.
Did you ever see anything suspicious in the parking lot in the lead up to her disappearance?
Seems like a very nice guy but I hope Vic has family nearby ,he’s going to need their help.
