Baseball: Century College sweeps No. 14 NIACC

WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. – No. 14 (Division II) NIACC baseball was handed two non-conference losses by the fourth-ranked team in NJCAA Division III Century College, 6-4 and 9-2.

Slow starts and shaky defense doomed NIACC (34-13 overall) in both games. The Mighty Wood Ducks scored all of their runs during the first two innings of both games.

ICCAC batting average leader Nick Tillo (So., Sioux City, IA) continued his tear with three hits of NIACC’s five hits in game one. He had an 11 game hitting streak entering the games.

Catcher Osvaldo Marin (So., Carolina Puerto Rico) had two of NIACC’s six hits in game two.

NIACC will host D-II’s No.9 team DMACC this weekend in two conference doubleheaders. The first game will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Roosevelt Field.
