I dont mind the teachers getting a little raise but most the administrators and their asst. are making 100k and john adams alone has at least 3 of them, high school 4-5 lincoln 2, plus the admin buliding ?????. come on where I work I took a cut, how about where you guys reading this work, raise or no raise.

The teachers need to make a livable wage just like the rest of us. The cos of heating the building to everything else goes up each year.

Maybe if the city didn’t freeze the tax base on them with the TIF deals that are handed out the school would have the revenues needed.

My kid goes to Harding. So I do have a vested interest.

A livable wage?? Have you looked at the salaries these people are making when they come out in the Globe in July?
Ridiculous.

They must make more then you. Why do people want to bring people down to their level, rather then try to bring everyone up

The school district used to be the high school, two middle schools, and five elementary schools. When all this construction business is done, we’ll be down to one high school, one middle school, one intermediate school, and three elementary schools. They could support 8 schools before and now they’re combining schools and classrooms, to consolidate the need for resources and they’re still asking for more. The teachers are now going against the school board for increases in salaries now too. How about the teachers quit being selfish and ask for money for the classrooms and not just money to put in to their own pockets!

Yes they will have all the people that have profited from school construction and ever increasing wages there tell us how we need to pay more taxes. It is time to vote NO on any requests for increase. First question how much do you think the sales tax change will cost the District and HOW MUCH DO YOU PLAN ON INCREASING REVENUE WITH THESE TAX CHANGES.

Here we go. Hold on to your pocketbooks. They are after more money again. They spent millions on the construction and now want us to bail them out. Less kids to teach=less teachers needed and less money for salaries and facility’s.

Whats the forum for? I feel every administrator and teacher in MC district needs to take a pay freeze or cut as taxes can’t be used anymore to keep giving these people more money. Our administrators at all schools in Mason City are making 100k and most have an assitant or two to help them out.

The forum is to beat the drum for more taxes. Even though enrollment is dropping, the mantra of the MC school district is: Mo’ money, mo’ money, mo’ money.

You can bet KIMT will lend a sympathetic ear. Now if they can just cut out some of their MN stories to make room for it.

Just let Clear Lake schools keep Anita Micich full time and we’ll save $190k/ year…. 😉 That would be a GREAT start!
