During the campaign for city council, much was said about John Lee. Things that alluded to; “he’s his own man. No one will tell him what to do!” Yeah sure, ok, but when does all of this machismo start to happen? And who is that guy sitting at that council table in his chair?
That mystical figure I heard about sure in the hell isn’t in that chair; the guy in that chair is as submissive as the rest of the yes votes, and shows no real indignation of change, but rather leans strongly towards confirmation and total capitulation to Mason City’s red headed stepchild.
If you were able to read body language, you’d be able to see that his body is saying things that are not coming out of his mouth. There is visible anguish displayed in his physical being, his face becomes slightly contorted as the vote approaches knowing once more he will give vocal denial to all the positive rhetoric that once described him. This only confirms that the man sitting in John Lee’s chair is an imposter…..

The solution is simple: Before each council meeting all, including Trout, should be required to “pee in a cup.”
If we only knew what they were really thinking at the meeting.

Went to the council work session today at city hall. I was very impressed how Lee spoke HIS mind. I think he really is a self thinker.
I do notice that Lee often says one thing but votes the other…
I will keep my eyes and ears open to see if this is true. I hope it isn’t but time will tell….

have to agree here. he either votes the way he explains or not. you cant be against something nd then vote yes. that doesnt make sense. he’s done this several times now. where is the courageous person who campaigned at my door.
John Lee doesn’t know whether to scratch his watch or wind his butt. Look at him, so conflicted is right. Pressure is on. What? do they get in a room together and tell him “You better or” is it threatening or he really can’t begin to decide which way to be. Think of your kids the impact on them later with what you do now. Use your conscience. All of the council should take a look at things this way. Because you all are really looking your age with this hell bent for power practice. Ease up and results would be incredible.

I will hold any comments on John until after this meeting. If he follows the lead sheep into this hole than he can be thrown in with the rest. And can someone explain as it was written in the report when select people were told about this project and given enough assurance on the location and that it will happen to buy property on speculation. Would question the legality of this whole process. Request a copy and read it for yourselves.
Lee was visibly shaken at the last council meeting as Bookmeyer’s cronies piled on him. One has to think that Lee will see through the b*llsh*t and stand up and be the real man he truly is. They are calling the Harley handout “welfare for the rich” and the rumor is that there are more deals in the works right now. How Lee can be pushed around by this weasel is unexplainable.
There is talk on the street that Paul Gold wants the same deal that Harley got, and if he doesn’t get it he’ll go to Florida and take his business with him. We’d all be better off if we just paid for the move and saw the last of him.

Whether you agree with the Harley thing or not. The property does look nice. Harley does bring in business money from out of town people. Harley does offer entertainment for their customers.
Imagine that the Gold’swould do anything other than something for themselves.
CH – Their little company has outlasted most of the bigger companies in North Iowa. Has often given a workplace to people transitioning out of Prairie Ridge. And has also continued to grow throughout its being in existence. They have acquired a lot of companies, giving them more opportunities, making more jobs for North Iowa. It may be little by little, but at least they strive to produce and sell items that are “Made in the USA”

Amazing analysis Mr. C. I did hear a lot about Mr. Lee’s rock solid character and backbone during the election but so far he is a sheep in the Mayor’s flock. A follower, not the leader I was led to believe he was. Disappointed.
