Cyclones Play Tigers In Centerville

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State will travel to Centerville, Iowa on Thursday to play Missouri at Lakeview Elementary School.

The Cyclones are 2-1 during the spring slate with wins over North Dakota State and Illinois. Sophomore outside hitter Victoria Hurtt leads the squad with 35 kills this spring.

In two matches against the Tigers last fall, Iowa State dropped a single game in winning 3-0 at home and 3-1 in Columbia, Mo. Former Cyclone Carly Jenson led Iowa State in kills during both matches and four players collected more than four block assists each in Iowa State’s 13-block performance on the road. Middle blockers Jamie Straube and Tenisha Matlock each had six block assists at Missouri and Straube added 15 kills.

Alison Landwehr and Kristen Hahn also had strong showings at Mizzou with Landwehr posting 59 assists and Hahn digging 28 balls on the night. Hurtt contributed 14 kills, one solo block and one block assist in the contest.

Thursday’s spring match will be preceded by drills, with the event running from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. CST.
