Iowa Lakes sweeps NIACC

ESTHERVILLE, Iowa – Iowa Lakes swept No. 7 NIACC in Friday’s games of a four-game series this weekend, 2-0 and 5-4 in eight innings.

Iowa Lakes scored one run in the fifth and sixth innings during game one, while holding NIACC to only three hits and one walk.  Trojan pitcher Lucas Bakker (Fr., Brisbane, Australia) pitched the entire way in the loss.  He allowed six hits, while striking out two and walking one.

Tyler Peterson (So., Eden Prairie, MN) had four hits in game two, while Nick Tillo (So., Sioux City, IA) and Drew Verstegen (Fr., Mason City, IA) both had a pair of hits.

The Trojans tied the game at four with two runs in the top of the seventh.  Iowa Lakes would score the final run in their half of the eighth off of Ean McNeal (Fr., Cedar Rapids, IA).

NIACC will take on the Lakers in a doubleheader again on Saturday starting at noon.
