I have never been to the Landfill facility, I don’t know what it looks like. Now that it is front and center in this community it has peaked my interest. I know such an operation is necessary in any community. We need a place to safely dispose of our refuse in a healthy way, and by the looks of what we currently have, we need not worry along those lines.
This is one of those places the majority of our residents never see, they just know it is there. We place our refuse out on the curb on the appointed day and a city truck comes by and collects it. We are charged a reasonable fee for that service on our water bill. End of story? No, not now.
Now we have Eric and his lockstep council plotting revenge against our good friends and neighbors who make up the twenty-nine communities who have formed this collation. Why, you ask? The answer to that is broad based; we would need to bring in the North Iowa Mental Health Center to really sort that out. It is solely my contention that our mayor suffers from some form of paranoia, a disorder that compels him to have his way. If not he will lie in wait and plot your demise…he did it with HRC and failed then ordered an audit on the agency. He denied appointments that should have been granted simply because he could get away with it.
He wanted CES to pass at the landfill level and it did not. Now he’s after them and this act is starting to get old fast. This is now way beyond juvenile….this is now serious. He is discussing pulling out of this coalition which could dangerously disrupt our refuse collection and result in higher costs to those living here. Does everyone living here now have to pay more because Eric’s upset? He put a egomaniacal representative on the board to replace Max Weaver; Scott Turnquist. We all know what happened when he assumed that seat. He automatically made the assumption he was in charge because we carry a third of the total vote. Eric sent this train wreck to that board to make sure they approved the CES proposal…they did not. It is my opinion that was due largely to Turnquist’s demeanor and dictatorial attitude towards the coalition…he was just too full of himself.

Perhaps if Bookmeyer messes up our landfill use or if our rates go way up, we can all put our trash in his yard in protest.
I’m beginning to worry about Peter. Boy I tall ya, he has the Mayor on the brain. Just can’t let it go. There’s a name for that too.

Turncoat. Once is a honest mistake. Twice is stupid. I think trust could still be salvaged if Turncoat and his overinflated ego was replaced with someone like Lee. I can already see turncoat going to the next meeting with an I am better than you attitude and driving the final steak through the relationship.

This ones even a little to far off for my dislike of beermeyer and turncoat. Anonymous the LNI brought it up after turncoats attempt to tell them how its going to be now with him on the board. Their protecting themselves from this rogue cartel now running the city who with pressure on a few others can rule the agenda.
The proprietor of this site had the gall to criticize other media and then allows this on his site? This is slander.

Katie. Good post. Where do you think peter children gets his information from? He doesn’t attend meetings and has never been to any events or places like the landfill. He gets his information from Matt and Max. Just like in this article he is way off base. The landfill board is the one who brought up changing the 28E agreement not the city. The mayor and council are just trying to be proactive and protect the cities best interest. Peter though tries to make something out of it that it is not. Also Max was replaced on the landfill board by tornquist because you have to be an elected official to represent Mason City on that board so when Max was defeated on January 1st he could not hold that position any longer. Also if Bookmeyer was such a drunk and alcoholic and was out publicly doing this. Don’t you think NIT would have some video or pictures because you know that they would love to have them on this site. There is not even a wiff out there. Just slanderous OPEDS with no facts or basis.
Wow-Peter, If you do all of this you will have your wings but won’t be able to write anything. I know of no one who is that clean and I doubt you will be either. I thought this article was pretty decent compared to some of the others you have written. All I can say is that you are not alone in your opinion of these two jokes and their rubber stamp buddy’s on the council. I hear there is a petition starting to get rid of Turncoat and they are looking at ways to get rid of Drunkmeyer.
Nothing of what you are accusing me of is in the artical posted above, not one thing. There is nothing profane, there is the truth however, it is present. There is nothinh hateful or misleading, it all conforms with what this or any other news outlet demands. you need to wake up as to what is going on around you.

While I don’t agree with the observation that the Mayor is mentally ill,some people say that about you and Matt, I do agree that Tornquist did not go about dealing with the LNI board in the right way.Just because someone doesn’t do what you want them to do doesn’t mean they need help.

You are not qualified to say he has paranoia, or that he needs mental health services based on the fact that you don’t like how he runs this City. aside from drunkmeyer having a serious mental problem. a serious drinking problem, thats ok hi God complex fixes that.
too bad the landfill don’t tell drunkmeyer and the city of Mason city to take their trash elsewhere. then lets see how fast they get a cure to their drinking problem.
