NIACC baseball extends win streak to six

VERO BEACH, Fla. – NIACC baseball extended its win streak to six straight with a 26-5 win in five innings over Montgomery College-Rockville (MD) and a 7-2 win over Dakota College (ND) on Tuesday.

The Trojans (8-2) had 13 hits against Montgomery, but also had 16 walks in the game and recorded 15 runs in the second inning.  Nick Tillo (So., Sioux City, IA) and Tyler Peterson (So., Eden Prairie, MN) both had five RBI on two hits against Montgomery.  Drew Verstegan (Fr., Mason City, IA) produced four RBI.

Ean McNeal (Fr., Cedar Rapids, IA) had a good game pitching and earned the win against Dakota with 11 strikeouts in five innings of work.  He gave up the two runs in the second-inning.

Offensively for NIACC, Peterson had a pair of hits and Ryan Voves (Fr., Mason City, IA) drove in a pair of runs.  The Trojans took the lead for good with a three run second-inning to make it 4-2.  The Trojans added two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.

The Trojans will have Wednesday off, but will play Montgomery again and West Chester University on Thursday.
