MASON CITY – A person was arrested in connection with a large fight that happened at Alley Katz bar early Saturday morning.
Michael Aaron Cordell Canady, 21, of Mason City, was arrested and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail at 2:26 a.m. Saturday morning.
Canady was charged with 1 count of public intoxication and 2 counts of disorderly conduct.
Sometime after 1 a.m., local police and emergency responders were dispatched to Alley Katz, 1341 North Federal, for what was described as a large fight. It was said at least one person was injured.
Alley Katz has had numerous incidents where local law enforcement were dispatched, including an incident involving a gun and an intoxicated bartender.
It’s not just the north end, it’s everywhere in this town. If he was defending his girlfriend then why didnt whoever punched her get arrested? Rookies needs to open back up it’s dancefloor so this kind of stuff can happen in Clear Lake like it used to. Hmmmm….maybe that’s why they won’t open their dance floor back up????

He went after someone who punched his girlfriend in the head. He was protecting her. Drop the charges

typical northend mason city ppl. seen this happen in so many bars. its easy to run a nice respectable dance club. but if u let this type of activity and clientel and bartenders keep doin the same thing every weekend..you patrons will stop comeing..your hours will get shorter and your business will be closed..happens every time if u dont get a handle on ur crowd and workers. i blame the owner for not doin enuff..her fault for letting this go on. i can list atleast 7 bars in the same area that have closed do to lets say rowdy activity. she better wake up. has such a great oportunity to provide a nice place and safe place and she is doing nothing to make it safe and respectfull. shame on her
