DMACC sweeps NIACC basketball in Boone

BOONE, Iowa – No. 14 DMACC dropped the NIACC men’s basketball team to 14-14 after an 88-84 win on Wednesday night.

Dejoni Norris (Fr., Waterloo, IA) had a strong game in the loss for NIACC (5-7 in the ICCAC) with 22 points.  Chris Davis (Fr., Colorado Springs, CO) also had a solid game with 15 points, while Nathan Brandt (Fr., Burlington, WI) and Dominique Wright (Fr., Colorado Springs, CO) had 12 and 11 points respectively.

DMACC had six players reach double-digit points, led by Nate Mason’s 20.  LaTree Russell scored 16 and Kurtis Phillips had 15 points.

NIACC will host Iowa Central on Saturday at 3 p.m.

On the women’s side, the No. 12 DMACC Bears did too much in the first half for the NIACC women (12-15, 4-9 in the ICCAC) to overcome during a 58-42 win on Wednesday night.

DMACC capitalized on NIACC mistakes and turnovers to lead 40-20 at half.

Kika Greenlee (Fr., Saint Louis Park, MN) scored a career-high 32 points, and was the only Trojan to score more than 10.  Sadie Pittman (So., Cape Girardeau, MO) and Jennifer Nelsen(So., Mason City, IA) both had eight points.

DMACC only had a pair of players reach 10 points.  Joscelyn Coleman had 17 to lead the Bears, and Ashley Hagedorn added 13 points.

NIACC will end their stretch of playing the top-four teams in the conference in a row on Saturday when they host Iowa Central at 1 p.m.
