MASON CITY – Shortly before 1:30pm on Friday 56-year-old Dean Richard Huse of Mason City was arrested for public intoxication after arriving to the court drunk for the 2nd time in 5 months.

Huse was transported by deputies from the Cerro Gordo County Court House to the county jail and charged with public intoxication. He has since been released from custody.

Huse was also arrested at the court house on September 19th for public intoxication. According to a court papers, “defendant appeared for trial under the influence of alcohol, defendant sentenced to 2 days in jail for contempt—trial continued to Sept 30th.”

This arrest was the 9th time since August that Huse has been booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail. In those incidents he has been charged with 2 counts of 3rd degree theft, 2nd degree theft, 4th degree theft, criminal trespass, simple assault, OWI, tampering with a motor vehicle, driving while suspended, public intoxication, 2nd offense aggravated domestic abuse assault, and obstruction of emergency communications.

It is unclear rather this arrest will be considered a violation of his pretrial release in some of his pending court cases or if he will remain on the streets.

He really needs help. He’s 56 and doing this all his life. He lived in Texas and did the same

Dean you really need to go get help before you kill yourself or someone else.

…nice picture tho…something for the wife to show the kids…

I…uh…well…I…uh…I guess I…uh…don’t know what to say! I guess I could ask that the courts just “pack” them into jail till they all have to keep standing up, but the courts don’t seem to want to send these “knuckle-draggers”to jail in the fisrt place anymore…so..uh…I just don’t know what to say…!

Why does it seem that the criminals processed through the Cerro Gordo Courthouse walk free or with minimal punishment? Time for some new judges.

He’s crying for help but not getting it. Give him the address of the judge that keeps putting him back on the street. Let him show up there once and see what happens to him!

Put the guy in prairie ridge . . .

LEAN law enforcment. The criminals come to you. It’s the ulitmate in doing more for less. Unfortunately, this guy is becoming a danger to the public. Please keep him locked up.

Larry, it costs more just to keep in in jail the whole time. Besides, arresting him multiple times gives the cops something to do… justifying an increase in next year’s budget. More arrests, we need more money to keep doing what we do next year!

Wow! Just Wow.

Talk about a waste of space. How much does it costs to keep sending this guy back to court and then letting him loose to get drunk all over again?

Nine arrests since August and he has been released?

Only in River (sin) City !!!!

Uh, yeah…………this doesn’t happen anywhere else but here. Right.
