Op-ed: If I was Brent Willett (by Peter Children)

Brent Willett says he’s tired of the consensus of Turncoat; what do you think he’s tired of?

Maybe he’s tired of listening to Turncoat taking and saying nothing, then taking far too long in doing it.  Maybe he’s tired of Turncoat’s bullying, his display of arrogance as displayed when he first took his seat at the first Landfill as a representative of this city.  Maybe he’s tried of trying to find out if Turncoat is really telling the truth…that’d be a toss up…anybody’s guess.

Maybe if we added up the number of days Willett has been on the job then divide the number of jobs (not counting his own) he has brought to this area, maybe he’d find out we’re tired of paying him for nothing.

If I were Brent Willett…well first of all I’d be really pissed if some quirk of nature really did turn me into him, but after I recovered I’d get under the desk so I could lessen my profile as much as possible, then I’d get one of those “how to books” telling me how to do my job, next I would hope the mayor doesn’t quit drinking and sober up to the fact that I have failed to compensate the city for the money I have received.  I would also think twice, maybe even three times before I bought my car out of town rather from a local dealer seeing that his job description really boils down to bringing revenue to this city.

Willett is young and has bought into what it says on the door to his office…I am assuming he has some sort of space with a desk and a phone.  He should learn that his job title is only that…. a title given to a man who has yet to fulfill its meaning.  It’s my opinion he should stop worrying about Turncoat and worry more about himself…

How you doing wolfy?, shoulda been at the land fill board meeting. It was all theres but they blew it. They played the hokey pokey, rod flores came in with a ball cap, blue jeans and a cheap blue wind breaker. Brent willet dressed down and had his hair combed down tried to play a country hick. Scott tornquist said only one word but his legs were bouncing like a 5 yr old had to pee. Brent trout voice shook so much that it distracted everyone. Eric bookmeyer with the big blue coat and scarf looked like a mob boss. It looked really bad, and it was thier’s to lose and they lost it.

Wait just a minute here.. we want the excellent paying jobs in Clear Lake

Bob.

I would agree with you. Being your Clear Lake councilman Tony Nelson was the swing vote that killed the CES project from coming to Mason City.

You tell us then what he is so great at? What has he done? And do you like paying out of your pocket for all of these things. Another cry baby.
There every where!

Peter/Peter, there you go with the name calling again and your message gets lost. I know very little about the young man in question but from what I have sen he has a pretty tough job on his hands. Who would want to start a new business here in this town with our current government or even with people like you who are negative on everything. Give the kid a chance.

Once again all the name call and nothing worth while. Peter, Give us a list of things that you believe would bring job to town? Bitch about every thing and bring nothing to the table.

I think his mandate is to try to get jobs to come to this region.I guess I would be upset too if the first company in a long time wanted to locate here and was turned down. Was it right for Mason City, I don’t know. I think we should probably give him a mulligan on this one.And Peter please stop with the name calling. It really takes the focus away from some good points.

Willett will eventually end up as a production line worker working along side of you; not that there is anything wrong with that.

Probably not. He seems like the kind of guy that would throw everyone under the bus to make himself look good. If he has anykind of plans for the future…he should seriously consider moving on now rather than later. After the CES experience any prospective employer doing a web search will pass him by. He’s already screwed and the longer he alines himself with the Mayor and the A Team the more screwed he will be. My quess would be jail eventually, he’s a fake.

But you’re not….

And, who asked you for your opinion?

Willett and people like him who want to live in a city that is not filled with Cave People will move on to a bigger city.

Now crawl back in.. It’s still Winter.

Amen! PC has all the answers but doesnt do anything besides squak here. PC do us a favor, enlighten the citizenry on how you will move Mason City into the next decade. Give us a top five!

AND GET OFF MY GRASS…dang kids!
