Affordables robbery suspect gets off with time served

MASON CITY – A Mason City man had been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred at Affordables, located at 315 North Delaware Ave., walked out of court on January 27th with no court fine or further jail time after pleading guilty to a lesser charge of 5th degree theft.

Police were called to Affordables at 2:35 P.M. on January 2nd for a robbery. According to police, a male subject who was waiting in the check-out line reached into the cash register while an employee was making change for another customer. The man grabbed reportedly $155 in cash. An employee attempted to stop the man but he physically resisted and fled the store on foot.

54-year-old Gary Michael Anderson was originally charged with second-degree robbery after police apprehended him shortly after the robbery. The original charge was a Class C felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.

According to court records the Cerro Gordo County District Attorney applied to the courts to amend the charge to a simple misdemeanor count of 5th degree theft on January 12th. That same day Anderson’s $10,000 bond requirement was dropped and he was released from jail with a written promise to appear to court on February 1st.

Anderson however entered a written plea of guilty on January 25th cited in records as a negotiated / voluntary plea.

On January 27th District Associate Judge, Gregg Rosenbladt ordered Anderson to pay a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, $100 filing and docketing fees, and reimburse the state $60 for indigent defense. There was no fine ordered and the ten day jail sentence had already been served before Anderson’s bail requirement was dropped.

Rosenbladt and Walk both are 2 peeps who are familiar with kritter talk. They come from a place where men are men and sheep are worried. Another outfit that can easily become victims of brain damage by being kicked in the ass. Our Nation is in a very sad state of affairs.

It takes to a willing judge (who used to work for our DA’s office) and a DA who requested the judge to lower the charge that the police tried for. See you can not blame the police for the elected officials that throw their work out the window.

I wonder if there’s any relation between this guy and the guy that got stabbed in clear lake recently.

What kind of Bull S. is this. A guy robs a store and gets out with no jail time. No wonder all the crooks come here.

You have got to be kidding me!? This was Robbery and at Affordables, a charitable business, no less. And the judge drops it to a misdemeaner and lets the guy walk. He should have to work there for a year perhaps. This is as bad as the sex offender (Mark Hoffman), who a few weeks ago, was arrested for not registering and was given only 30 days, not back to prison and also charged with poss. of Meth and just given 2 days for that…WHAT?!

Guess when you have worthless judges that doesnt help either!!

Seriously? Wtf

Another person in mason that got away with robbery!
