Op-ed: Vision of auditorium (by Peter Children)

I can see a central auditorium being built here; if I close my eyes I can see the ice rinks, I can here the squeal of the blades as they cross the ice, the roar of the crowd as they shout out for their team to win. I can just see their proud parents reclining in luxurious seats while their youngsters push the puck across the ice…back and forth; how utterly thrilling it will be.

I  can see the stage where numerous acts will preform; spectualar performances will mount the stage to loud applause from cheering crowds while NIACC officials will be wringing their hands with a failed concert series and a recently remodeled auditorium  costing nearly 2 million dollars…full of empty seats.  I can see it all in front of me.

I can see professional wrestling matches where no one comes; do they still have that facade on televison?  I think they do but you need a special code to find it…..its called a time machine.  The latrine will feature a bronze bust of Eric Bookmeyer; his eyes will light up every time some one flushes the toilet and a recorded inner voice will say; “Thank you for coming.”

If indeed the size mirrors two thirds of the super target store the heat bill will approach $20,000.00 a month, or more and the electric bill will be another $15,000.00….or more.

All of this will materialize upon our horizon just about the time Jesus comes, He’ll be the first speaker, maybe even cut the ribbon.
