High speed car chase Tuesday morning in Cerro Gordo county

by Jody Spear –

MASON CITY – What started out as a routine vehicle offense stop early Tuesday morning resulted in a high speed car chase south of Clear Lake.

At approximately 1:35 a.m., near the 2400 block of South Shore Drive, a Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Officer attempted to stop a tan 1999 Mercury Cougar.
The driver, later identified as Christopher Grover, age 22, of Dumont, was wanted on outstanding Cerro Gordo County warrants.
Grover fled south on Fir Avenue to 220th Street, around the dangerous, gravel curves, up to 210th Street and turned west.
The chase continued on 210th for several miles.  They crossed Dogwood, Balsam, Apple and turned south on Yale Avenue.  They stayed southbound on Yale Avenue to 170th Street, then turned west that would lead them into Klemme.
Authorities were able to stop the car by deflating the tires with stop sticks.  After driving on flats through Klemme, the car landed in a snow bank in the ditch.
Grover then took a deputy on a foot race, resulting in Grover losing and being taken into custody.
Grover was booked for his four outstanding warrants, which included possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
After the car chase, Grover was also charged with Eluding Law Enforcement, Driving Under Suspension and Interference With Official Acts.
Assisting with this incident were the Iowa State Patrol, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department and the Britt Police Department.

With all the drugs this guy was packing. You would think there would be more arrest coming in the near future.

Um, does ANYONE (besides me) NOT care about the actual route taken during this chase? Or the color of the car? And isn’t the term “dangerous” subjective? WHY so MANY unnecessary words here?

The color of the car? No. The route taken? Yes. I care.

You mean like your words?

Wonder if his dumbass girlfriend can bail his sorry ass out this time. Skanks.
