FORT DODGE, Iowa – The NIACC men’s basketball dropped below the .500-mark in conference play after losing to Iowa Central 57-48 on Wednesday night.
It was the Trojans third straight loss, and dropped NIACC to 11-10 overall and 2-4 in the ICCAC.
Chris Throne (So., Lake Mills, IA) scored 14 points to lead NIACC’s scoring. He was the only NIACC player to reach double-digit points, and his four baskets were almost a quarter of NIACC’s field goals (17-for-61).
Despite holding the Tritons to 7-of-31 shooting in the opening half and taking a 25-18 at halftime, they weren’t able to hold onto the ball during the second half, turning over the ball 11 times. They had 19 turnovers in the game.
Iowa Central’s Robert Gofney scored 26 points, 19 of which came in the second half. Duke Reed added 15 points.
NIACC will play Ellsworth in Iowa Falls on Saturday at 3 p.m.
