Ukrainian man arrested on federal child sexual exploitation charges

PHILADELPHIA — Special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrested Ivan Pravilov, 48, a hockey coach from the Ukraine, on charges of traveling in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts with a minor. A criminal complaint charges that Pravilov committed sexual acts with a 14-year-old boy visiting in the United States and attending hockey clinics.

Pravilov is in federal custody pending a detention hearing. If the public has any information concerning Pravilov, they are requested to contact the ICE HSI office in Philadelphia at 215-717-4987.

This investigation is part of Operation Predator, a nationwide ICE HSI initiative to protect children from sexual predators, including those who travel overseas for sex with minors, Internet child pornographers, criminal alien sex offenders, and child sex traffickers.

ICE HSI encourages the public to report suspected child predators and any suspicious activity through its toll-free hotline at 1-866-DHS-2ICE, its online tip form which is staffed around the clock by investigators.

Suspected child sexual exploitation or missing children may be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, an Operation Predator partner, at 1-800-843-5678 or http://www.cybertipline.com.
